Magazine Format

Format: A4 size 210mm width x 297mm height
Volume: 64 pages, 4x4 coloured
Processing: saddle stitch
Paper:       Cover: 170g/gm woodfree, white glossy
                  Inside: 90g/gm white glossy

 


Deadlines

All ads and articles have to be delivered in digital format on or before the closing dates.

Closing dates for ads and article:  February 5 (for Spring Issue)
                                                  August 15 (for Fall Issue)

 

 

Master Artwork

- ACCEPTED SOFTWARE
Digital files:

  • Adobe InDesign CS2 (or earlier)
  • Adobe Photoshop 9.0 CS2 (or earlier)
  • Adobe Illustrator 12.0 CS2 (or earlier)
  • Adobe (Macromedia) Freehand MX (or earlier)
  • PDF files (Acrobat Distiller PDF from postscript file preferred).

- ACCEPTED FILE FORMATS for GRAPHICS
Color Images:
Save in CMYK color mode as TIFF or EPS. Images with clipping paths must be saved as EPS. Do not use Photoshop DCS 1.0 or Photoshop DCS 2.0

Black and White Images:
Bitmap or Grayscale TIFF

Image Resolution:
CMYK and Grayscale   300ppi at 100%.
Bitmap images             800ppi at 100%.

- CORRECT INDESIGN DOCUMENT SETUP
Document Size
Bleed Ads: The document size should match the ad trim size. Extend items that will bleed 3mm. beyond the page edges into the paste board area. For a full bleed, extend all four sides.

Safe Text Area: Keep all text approximately 10mm. inside the trim to ensure that text does not get cut off.

Correct Color Palette Settings
Convert all RGB colors to CMYK. Convert all spot colors, including Pantone, to CMYK.

Perform a “Package” option in InDesign
This will notify you if any graphics are missing. You must update all modified graphics.

Fonts
Be sure to include all fonts used in the document.

- ACCEPTED COLOR PROOFS:
Please do not rely on ink jet printers for your color proof. Most ink jet printers do not yield accurate CMYK color output. All proofs must be prepared to SWOP standards.

Additional art work expenses due to adjustments and proof corrections will be charged upon agreement.

Place your files in a folder and compress the folder using Stuffit Deluxe, WinZIP, WinRAR or a similar program. Upload the compressed file by our upload system. Don't forget to enter your password. You may also enter your email address if you want to be notified about the upload status.
